Deuteronomy 6:5 Notes

--Greek Title ---Our English Version--


Name of the book- --- Deutero = Second, Nomos= Law

Second Law---this is now the 2nd time around. The second time going through
the same law as previously given in Exo- Num.

This is for the new generation –those who were 20 years old and younger
who are ready to enter the promised Land.

Book divided into (3) messages by Moses---(see my bible)

• All of the teachings of the New Testament are based on all the laws
and principles that are presented in Deuteronomy

• Jesus Quoted from the book Deuteronomy more than any other book

This can be thought of as hind sight , looking back on the 40 year journey of:

• What Gods law says

• What the experiences were

• What the pitfalls were

• What should have been done, and

• What they need to do when they get into the land

According to:

1 Cor 9 & 10 as well as Hebrews Chapter 6

It presents the wilderness journey of the Hebrew people parallel to that of


the Christian walk TODAY!

Egypt is a symbol of the believers “former” life in the world….

Now from Egypt to Kadesh Barnea is the “Wilderness” Journey.

They were saved “out of Egypt”


But now understand the LAW was NOT given to get people saved!

• They “already belonged to the Lord..

• They were already HIS people..

Law was about – maturity, and maintaining

Deut 6:5

• KJV -5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and
with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

• Complete Jewish Bible -5 and you are to love ADONAI your God with
all your heart, all your being and all your resources.

• Message -5 Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with
all that's in you, love him with all you've got!

So what we need to look at here is:

Heart- Soul – Mind (or Strength)

Heart- Not the muscle that pumps blood—though we will look at that in
symbolism

But ……what motivates you from within---

WE’VE got to deal with that….because God said this and then by the
time they got to Malachi God stopped talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The book of Malachi is like a spiritual thermometer.

After Malachi’s prophecy you see that God did not speak to Israel for approx.
400 years, not until the announcement of the coming of the Christ (The
annointed one) because the people did not take heed to any of these things.

• They constantly responded with what do you mean?

• What are you saying God?

I come to church, I come to pray, I praise..


God is saying to us today you do not honor by your ways and what you bring
to me in your attitude. Your attitude is wrong. You are bring me the leftovers
of your life.

• We bring the Lord what is blemished---


We lie, We are unfaithful, fornication is ramped, backbiting,

• Gossiping, tearing each other down behind closed doors thinking no


one will know and no one will see. Like God steps away for a moment
• We give the Lord if we can afford it
• We give the Lord our time if we can spare it

There is a higher plane that God is calling us to in our:

• Relationships

• And our heart attitude..

This is more than just another message

You must press to hear God’s VOICE tonight..

Greater Love has to do with God’s nature

• It’s not what HE does

• It’s who He is…

You see God didn’t just tell you he loved you with evidence to back up His
love…

God didn’t just tell you he loved you and then we He closed the door and sat
to chat with His angels ..he talked about your short comings with others.

He didn’t just tell you this and then when you failed had a party because you
tripped up and fell short of His Glory.

• His love never fails….WE Fail…but His love NEVER

• His loves covers your sins

• His love makes provision for you and doesn’t just leave you to fend for
yourself

• His love doesn’t have a click


• His love doesn’t have favorites

• His love “rebukes” and “chastises” but not as “punishment” but to


restore!

I’m talking about GREATER LOVE!!!!!!!!

Paul says to the Philipians in 1:9-11

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge
and in all judgment;
Php 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be
sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
Php 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus
Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

He wants their love to abound more, and more, that desire for his nature …
who He is… to increase and abound and come forth more and more in
“Knowledge” and in “Judgment”!

1 Jn 2:10-He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none
(or no) occasion of stumbling in him.

If I love my brother there will be no occasion from stumbling, because my


heart wants to be right with God..not my outward appearance but my heart..

Because how many of you know we have perfected

• Looking saved

• Sounding Saved

• Acting like we love people

But the “evidence” doesn’t line up that my heart…..


(Do you know there is an honor code and glue among thieves and robbers
that does not exist among most of the people of God)…

Let me tell you my message is two fold it’s to the man on the street
and to the one in the ark of safety…that is dying in the church!!

Soul –Will, Mind, Emotions, desires, intellect, decision making


process
Mind-Total Process of thinking!!!
Mind is spiritual..in the spirit realm…Luke 16 rich
man and Lazarus
