Activities: Pre Lesson:
1. Pupils recall days of the week in previous lesson.
2. Pupils watch a video on “Days of the Week”.
Lesson Development:
1. Pupils listen to teacher chants ‘My Perfect Week’ jazz chant.
2. Pupils follow after the teacher.
3. Pupils recite the jazz chant aloud with actions chorally, in
group, in pairs and individually.
4. Teacher shows pictures on daily activities.
5. Pupils match the pictures to the correct phrase on the
whiteboard.
6. In groups, pupils create simple jazz chant based on their daily
activities by using the template given. (collaborative work)
7. Pupils write their own jazz chant on the mahjong paper
provided.
Post Lesson:
1. Pupils present their work through gallery walk. (gallery walk)
2. One representative from each group stays to provide
explanation on their work. (one stay, three stray)
3. Pupils vote for the best work and teacher provides rewards.
Teacher’s Reflection: a) Pupils able to recite the jazz chant with correct pronunciation,
stress and rhythm.
b) Pupils able to create simple jazz chants based on their daily
activities in groups.
