Running Head: GLOBAL WARMING 1

The document discusses how global warming is affecting the world. It addresses ocean warming, melting of the Arctic, and air warming as major effects of global warming. Ocean warming decreases fish populations and damages marine ecosystems. Melting of the Arctic endangers polar bears and causes sea level rise. Air warming has led to higher atmospheric temperatures globally in recent years. The document argues that human activities like greenhouse gas emissions and pollution are primary drivers of the current global warming trend.

How Bad Global Warming is Affecting the World?

Global warming is one of the most massive issues that is facing the world in the modern

era of the human life. Many people deny the fact that global warming and climate change is real

nor happening in actual life. In fact, global warming according to many scientific reports has

raised up since the last decade and the effects became more and more visible and that cannot be

ignored. They are a lot of reasons on why global warming is happening and if it is a natural

phenomenon or another disaster made by humans. Global warming has many causes and effects

to water, land and air.

Firstly, ocean warming is one of the most unrecognizable issues in the world, yet it is a

very terrible issue which occurs globally in almost all of the seven oceans on the planet. There is

a lot of causes of ocean warming however, the main reason on why ocean warming is happening

is because of the high temperature of atmosphere, because the heat goes directly from the sky

into the ocean. Another cause on how ocean warming happened is obviously humans because

according to Laffoley and Baxter (2016), when humans spread greenhouse gases into the

atmosphere, it highly increases the negative impact of ocean warming. Thus we can see that

humans actually play an important part of causing the ocean warming. When people throw waste

into the ocean, the flow of the sea automatically becomes heavier and it really get bad when

chemicals including toxic gases, petroleum, acids go directly from the chemical industries into

the ocean.

On the other hand, the effects of ocean warming is even a lot more than the causes,

simply because a one cause could lead to a dozens of negative effects. The high temperature in

the atmosphere with time rising up the heat in the ocean which could decrease a large amount of

fishes and others sea creatures, simply because they cannot keep up nor survive in a warm
GLOBAL WARMING 3

environment. As Monllor-Hurtado, Pennino and Sanchez-Lizaso (2017) researched showed that

the amount of tuna fishes locally and worldwide relays on the sea temperature, and their numbers

now is an actual proof of the effect of climate change. Sadly, tuna is not the only kind of sea

creatures that is badly effected by ocean warming. Chemicals could poison many sea creatures

immediately and even by poisoning small fishes it could possibly destroy a whole marine life-

cycle. Ocean warming can and will reflect its effects on humans, generally because humans rely

a lot on water and the process of getting a clean water for people will get even harder when the

chemicals needs to be removed from the oceans. Also, since people use sea creatures as food and

some countries really rely on the fish market there will be a huge loss in the fish market business

since the fishes will be either sick and absolutely uneatable or dead.

Furthermore, global warming already caused a lot of negative effects on earth, specially

in the arctic. The arctic has been melting in the last century. One of the main reasons on why the

arctic is melting is the amount of heat which has increased in the last ages. According to Kahn

(2017), Climate central reported that the temperature been rising a lot more in the arctic, and the

north pole actually get warmer 1.3 C every decade since 1979. Sadly, it is true that this awful

warming trend has been raising up and never got stopped and this is something that should be

concerned. The burning of plastic and fossil fuel and many other waste is also rises up the heat to

a level that make the arctic in the north and south poles begin to melt for good.

They are many effects of the arctic melting and some of the effects are really horrible;

because it does not only affect humans but all other living creatures too. Animals that live on the

arctic now can hardly survive due to the arctic melting like polar bears. According to Ma (2016),

NASA reported that polar bears are one of many species that get affected by the annual heat and

the melting of the land that is the sea ice; because polar bears rely on the arctic sea ice for their
GLOBAL WARMING 4

daily life habits such as hunting, traveling and breeding. Unfortunately, polar bears numbers

have been decreased lately due to the global warming. With the arctic melting, the sea level is

highly increasing. The increasing of sea level could possibly in time takeover the north and the

south pole till the lands and all of the living creatures on it do not exist anymore.

Finally, air warming has been one of the most recent and yet most dangerous factor that

influence global warming to happen. There are many causes for the air warming that people are

witnessing in this era and one of them is the release of greenhouse cases into the atmosphere for

example: carbon dioxide, methane, ozone. According to Matyssek (2016), expanding ozone

levels may balance conceivably empowering consequences for vegetation of the anthropogenic

carbon dioxide improvement in the climate. Regrettably, it is true that ozone gas could

completely decrease or ruin the life of plants in a short amount of time. The earth has witnessed

many wildfires and that could happen by a natural cause like lightning, volcanic eruption or even

by a direct human cause like discarded cigarettes.

As a result of air warming, the heat in the atmosphere has risen up year after year. People

might have not noticed that yet, however once again science studies prove them wrong.

According to Northon (2017), NASA “NASA estimates 2016 was the warmest year with greater

than 95 percent certainty”. It is certainly true, United Kingdom did not have a white Christmas

since 2010 and Qatar rain falling in winter get lower every year. Ocean warming is of the effects

of air warming simply because the ocean absorbs the heat from the atmosphere. If people look at

it precisely it is a circle of awful tremendous serious warming trends that needs to be managed

and solved by humans because they are the main reason behind the global warming.

In Conclusion, people need to realize what is happening to the world and that global

warming is real and it is happening more than people could ever imagine. Global warming needs
GLOBAL WARMING 5

to be stopped once and for all and that is not happening if people would not act and invest money

for a cause that is saving the human race and a lot of other species. The earth is suffering, and so

will humans if nothing is really changed. The past, present and future is in human’s hand, be

wise and do not pollute.
