4.1 Analogue Ip Set Point

1. The document describes using an analog input to control the setpoint and a digital input to start and stop a drive that controls the flow of cooling water for a diesel generator. 2. It provides three levels of instruction - the first asks the user to determine which parameters to use, the second provides the parameters to configure, and the third gives the specific parameter settings. 3. The aim is to allow an operator to adjust the water flow setpoint using an analog input and start/stop the drive using a digital input by configuring the appropriate drive parameters.

4.1 Analogue and digital input Control

Overview:
Use an analogue i/p to control the setpoint, and digital input to run and
stop the drive. (This is not necessary if drive has been Quick
Commissioned with default settings).

Aims:
To adjust the setpoint using one of the analogue inputs, and to stop and
start the drive using a digital input
Narrative:
Consider a pump that used to circulate cooling water for a Diesel Generator.
The flow of the water is to be set by an operator using an analogue input to the
drive.

Notes:

Instructions:
Follow the exercises given to you, setting the parameters to configure
the drive suitable for use within the system.

1 Description of the requirements.

You decide which parameters to use and their settings,
The settings should be tested and optimised as required.

2 Description of the requirements PLUS the parameters to use.

You determine the correct settings of the given parameters.
The settings should be tested and optimised as required.

3 All parameters and settings are given.

You implement the settings.
The settings should be tested and optimised as required.

Level 3.

The parameters that you should consider using are:

P0700 = 2; P1000 = 2;
(this assumes the digital and analog input parameters are at default)
1 Implement the settings.

2 Test the settings.

3 Consider any modifications that you may make to improve your settings.
List them in the box provided.
Modifications/Notes:

What happens if you set P0700 = 1 and P1000 = 2 and visa versa?
