Seminars: Tuesdays 3:30 – 5:20 PM in 110 JH, unless otherwise noted

Course Requirements:
 Attendance is required, and a sign-in sheet will be circulated for each seminar. Students who are
unable to attend a specific seminar must email Dr. Rajurkar ([email protected]) in advance to
inform him of their conflict and request an excused absence.
 No one should leave the seminar room till the seminar Q&A is completed unless there is an
emergency.

 Speakers from peer institutions, federal agencies, national laboratories and UNL are being
scheduled.
All students will be informed about each seminar details via e-mail.

 As usual, we have reserved some dates for our own graduate students to share their research
projects. Please contact Kathie Hiatt or Dr. Rajurkar to let them know if you wish to make a
presentation. We will also ask your advisors for nominations.
o Student speakers will have 15 minutes for presentation and 5 more minutes for answering
questions;
o Two student speakers will be scheduled on the same date.

o Students who make a student presentation during the semester do not need to submit a
written report this semester.

 One written report is due by Monday, November 27, 2017, summarizing what you have learned
from one specific seminar(s) with detailed technical descriptions;

o Report format:

 Include at the top of the first page: your name, the name of your advisor, the
presentation title, the presenter’s name, and the date of the presentation. Your
report will be returned to you without this information;

 two / three pages, double-spaced, font 11, Arial, 1” margins

o Submit your report to Kathie via email ([email protected]) by November 27, 2017. LATE
REPORTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
