Checking for sewer main and pump sump constructed under Ph 2 along Jln Tun Hussien Onn

Highway and Taman

1) Catchment I + H (Taman Puteri sewer area)
PE = 10,082
Peak flow = 4.7 x (PE/1000)-0.11 x 225 x PE l/day
= 8,268,694.24 l/day
q= 5.74 m3/min
q= 0.10 m3/s

Existing sewer main,

size , d = 0.35 m ===> 14 inches
slope, s= 0.006

Use nomograph,
Vfull = 1.2 m/s ( 3.94 ft/s)
Qfull = 0.12 m3/s ( 4.23 ft3/s)

q/Q full = 0.80 (if q/Q full >= 1.08, the gradient and/or size of sewer is to be increased)

0.35 m dia. sewer at a gradient of 0.006 shall be able to cater for 10,082 PE

2) Catchment I + H + G + F + E (Tun Hussein Onn road area, sewer main)

PE = 16071
Peak flow = 4.7 x (PE/1000)-0.11 x 225 x PE l/day
= 12,521,563.44 l/day
q= 8.70 m3/min
q= 0.14 m3/s

Existing sewer main,

size , d = 0.45 m ===> 18 inches
slope, s= 0.003

Use nomograph,
Vfull = 0.98 m/s ( 3.21 ft/s)
Qfull = 0.16 m3/s ( 5.65 ft3/s)

q/Q full = 0.91

v/Vfull = 1.13
v = 1.11 m/s >0.8 m/s
<4 m/s

0.45 m dia. sewer at a gradient of 0.003 shall be able to cater for 16,071 PE
