Scope and Limitations of The Study

The study aims to determine if banana and orange peels can be used as alternative sources of charcoal. Researchers will create charcoal briquettes by mixing peeled banana and orange pieces with sand and cornstarch. The briquettes will be dried and tested for use as charcoal over 1-2 days. However, the study is limited and will not explore other applications of the briquettes beyond their intended use as charcoal.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

The study will try to determine the possibility of using

banana and orange peelings to be used as alternative sources of

charcoal. In the experiment we will be using the ripe yellow

bananas and just ordinary orange fruits commonly sold in streets

. Generally , the experiment may last for one to two days

until the mixture briquettes will dry and ready to be used as

charcoal. This study is deemed to focus on the development

and improvement of high quality Charcoal Briquettes from

Banana (Musa Acuminata) and Orange (Citrus sinensis) peels.

This study was only limited on how to make Charcoal

Briquettes out of banana peelings and pili sap. And thus,

the application of the product in other materials will no

longer be studied.

GENERAL PROCEDURE

The feasibility of the charcoal briquette is tested by

burning it .The researchers will gather the materials .They

washed the banana and orange peels separately and they

then chopped the fruit peelings into pieces . Once the fruit
peelings were chopped they mashed the four ingredients

together – 2kg. banana and Orange peelings , 250 grams fine

sand , 100 grams cornstarch and charcoal aggregates in a

mortar and pestle . Banana and Orange peelings should be

more , approximately half of the mixture . Charcoal

Aggregates , rotten or used Cornstarch and fine sand should be a quarter

of the quantity of the peelings . When the mixtures were

thick enough , mold and sun dry

for 2 days .
