HR Submission 1

Q.1What is your statement of purpose?

Ans. To be a better version of myself – that is the thought that has shaped my career so far and that is the
reason I opted for an MBA. I have had to work really hard for everything I am today. For a simple boy
from a fairly unknown part of the country, studying in one of the best schools of the country (DPS
RKPuram), getting into one of the top 10 colleges (Delhi College of Engineering), working in the fastest
growing real estate company (Godrej Properties Ltd) and finally getting admitted to one of the best B-
schools (IIM Lucknow) is already a dream run. However, I don’t want to stop here.
I have always focussed on overall growth. Yes, performing well in academics has always been my priority,
but I’ve always looked out for opportunities where in I can develop my personality. It is because of such
experiences, my experience as the president of Society for Civil and Environmental engineers, or
participating and passionately being associated to music culture, I think I am what I am today.
The decision to do an MBA or become a manager was most affected by my work experience. I was most
influenced by my Regional Head. He was the most recognised face of my company, not only due to his
excellent achievements but also because of the relationship he had built with his seniors, peers and
subordinates. That’s the person I want to be one day. Sure, I want to very good at my job, be in a decision
making role in a company, but what will make it my dream career will definitely be the relationships I
manage to have with my team. I want to be a great leader, and make impact on people’s life if I have an
opportunity. And to do all this, I think MBA from IIM L is the best launching pad I could have got.

Q.2What is your biggest achievement in life so far?

Ans. I think my biggest achievement is the consistency of my performance throughout my life, not only
in academics, but in other spheres as well. However, if I have to name one particular instance, one of the
most significant accomplishment so far has been adapting to the new environment when I came to Delhi
Public School, R K Puram for my high school education. I had been a topper all my life till X standard.
But in this school, with people showcasing their gold medals and blue blazers, I was a green blazer
student with very average marks that barely managed to put me in the top 20 of my section. There was a
clear difference between the ideologies and thought processes of the students there and those of myself.
The contrast in the lifestyle was clearly discernible. And the fact that I was not fluent in English language
only plunged my confidence further. But what followed was the turning point of my career. The only
thing I had in my favour was that I was good at singing which got me noticed at first. Once I got the
much needed push, I worked very hard to improve my communication skills. I did mirroring (the practice
that I follow even today), I used to read out loud enunciating every word. My confidence level gradually
elevated. I started talking to people. I paid more attention to my studies. I finally enjoyed the competition
and managed to score 95% marks in XII boards and secure school rank 16 out of 800 students. I could
have easily lost hope, wasted my two years, blamed it all on my background, but I worked hard and have
at least set an example for myself that no matter how big the problem life throws at me, there always
exists a solution.
1. Describe your biggest failure in life (Maximum 200 words).
Ans. I had joined DPS RKPuram when I was in XI standard. After 6 months of my admission, my father
met with a life threatening accident. He suffered major injuries near the head and neck area and other
minor injuries. My midterm exams were going on and hence, I could not go visit him immediately. When
I saw him, I came to know he had partial amnesia. I am very close to my father. And after only a week of
my stay, he recovered his memory almost completely and was also feeling great. But somehow, after a
month or two, he started suffering from depression. I was back in Delhi and like everyone else, ignored
this as a post-traumatic experience which will fade away with time. However, his condition only got
worse. My biggest failure was that I could have helped him get through this phase had I been with him.
But my family members decided that I should be in Delhi completing my education. It was a tough
HR Submission 1

decision, but I still regret not leaving my education and going to my hometown to help my father when
he needed me the most. Since then, I have always prioritized my commitments towards my family above
everything.
2. Describe a situation where you initiated a new idea or approach and implemented it. How did
you go about it? (Maximum 300 words)
Ans. I was selected into Society for Civil and Environmental Engineers in my College. Though it was the
only official society of my department, no one knew about it as not many events were organised under it.
Most people joined it for certificates. When I joined the society, I realised that no one is even willing to
put an extra effort to revamp the society. I took the initiative and started working on a revival strategy for
the society. I encouraged some of my friends to help me and then made a plan to organise a 3 day
technical week with interesting events so that people at least know about the society. We didn’t have
funds and no one was willing to sponsor us because of the past record of the society. Hence, we took
what we had, gathered some funds from the teachers and then organised the event in the most cost
efficient way possible. After that I was made the president of the society. We appointed a new council of
juniors as they had more desire to work and the hunger to learn. We made event schedule for the next
year and planned according to that. We started going to various organisations, teachers, alumni, practically
anyone we could find to raise funds. We gathered Rs.3 lakhs from 15 different sponsors at that time. We
adhered to our plan and then ended up organising our own technical fest with around 15 events and a
footfall of 1200. Today the society has organised around 100+ events and has around 1200 members.

3. Describe a situation where you had to persuade others to achieve a goal after overcoming
resistance. How did you go about it? (Maximum 300 words)
Ans. I was the president of Society of Civil and Environmental engineers and we had to organise a
technical fest in college. Since, it was a technical fest, we were focussing only on the technical events
related to our academic subjects. However, I had an apprehension about the fact that society had only
started its work 6 months back and since, we were new, we won’t be getting a lot of participation. Also, in
my college every society has organise the technical fest at the same time and hence, we have to compete
with each other for increasing participation. So, I proposed to organise some small activities and some
popular gaming events as well so that people at least get to know about the society and once, they do, we
can inform them about our technical events as well. Majority of the committee including the teachers
didn’t agree with me. They wanted to stick only to the purely technical events. I then, briefed them about
how many people participate in such events and what is the participation we are expecting. I proposed my
plan as a marketing strategy. It took a lot of convincing and finally we voted unanimously for my plan.

4. What do you propose to do in your career in the short and long term? (Maximum 300 words)
Ans. Short term goals:
First of all, I want to develop my skills as soon as possible so that I am better equipped to handle the
responsibilities and justify my role when I become a manager. I want to be a better orator, increase my
general awareness, be good at networking and building long lasting relationships and want to understand
how a business functions. After my MBA, I want to join a company where I can maximize my learnings. I
am willing to put in those extra hours if it helps with my development. I want to join a company where, I
can at least participate in the decision making so that I can learn how to think and come up with a
decision on something after looking at virtually unrelated facts in a coherent way.
Long Term Goals:
In long term, job satisfaction is the most important thing for me. I want to do something which I am
happy doing. I want to learn about the functions of different departments i.e. Sales and Marketing,
HR Submission 1

Strategy, Business development so that when I am at the decision making body of the company, I am
better equipped to take my decision. I want to have a job where in I can impact people’s lives on a larger
scale.
1.What are the 3 most important values that guide your thoughts & actions?
Ans. a). Planning – I believe that strategizing and planning can make even the most difficult tasks simple.
Whatever the situation has been, be it organising a fest, planning for a trip or even small things such as
preparing for term exams, I have always tried to make a plan and have tried to adhere to it. I still make
study timetable for the examinations according to my preparation level, difficulty level of the subjects and
the examination schedule and then try and stick to it. This, I believe, is the most important thing which
has helped me in maintaining a good academic record.
b). Ethics/Honesty – In the limited work experience I’ve had so far, and the organisational experience of
working in several societies and committees though-out my career, I have always give special importance
to ethics the way I have conducted myself. To give a small example: I was a part of a team of 3 in my
company. The new senior manager we had, accidently sent some classified information about the
tendering process to the bidders in a mail. I somehow noticed it, and informed this to him immediately
and asked him to recall his mail. He requested me to maintain silence and not say this to anyone as he had
recently joined the company, and this would have put his job in jeopardy. I thought about it a lot, and in
the end informed me reporting manager privately about this. I also told him that this would have been
purely accidental and requested him not to say anything if no harm is done to the company. In this
instance, I knew that I have a duty towards my organisation before any other thing, and hence, I chose to
do what was right.
c). Perseverance – I strongly believe that a battle is not lost until the last swordsman is not down. I think
that being competitive is the most important quality one can have in today’s world. But just being
competitive is not enough. Perseverance is equally important. Ex: - While playing badminton, I try and
practice a lot so that I can improve my performance. However, in almost all the matches I’ve played, I
have noticed that beyond a certain point my skill or my competitive spirit is not important. What
mattered the most was that, even in games where I was 19-7 down, I fought back with equal intensity and
hence, have won matches. Giving everything you’ve got for that last point is the key. This, I believe, has
helped me reach where I am today.
2. Have you ever adopted a non-traditional approach to manage a project/situation or to solve a
problem? Briefly describe the project/situation of the problem, the approach and the outcome.
Ans. I was the president of Society of Civil and Environmental engineers in my college and during my
tenure, I initiated a technical fest in college. Since, it was a technical fest, we were focussing mainly on the
technical events that were in some way on the lines of what was covered in our academic curriculum.
However, I had an apprehension about the fact that society had only started its work 6 months back and
since, we were new, we won’t be getting a lot of participation. Also, in my college every society has to
organise the technical fest at the same time and hence, we have to compete with each other for attracting
participation. Even if the events were designed such that not only civil engineering participants but
students from other branches are able to participate as well, we had to find a way of communicating this.
So, I proposed to organise some small informal activities and some popular gaming events as well, so that
people at least get to know about the society and once they do, we can inform them about our technical
events as well. The ideas was to attract a lot of people in a single point and then tell them about our
events. Majority of the committee members, including the faculty advisors and patrons of society, didn’t
agree with me. They wanted to stick only to the purely technical events. I then, called for a committee
meeting and gave a presentation after acknowledging and identifying most of their apprehensions and
showing how and to what scale my proposed strategy can help our society. And, when even this didn’t
convince some people, I had to just ask them to trust me. It took a lot of convincing and finally we voted
unanimously for my plan.

3.What are your personal goals in life?

Ans. Short term goals:
First of all, I want to develop my skills as soon as possible so that I am better equipped to handle the
responsibilities and justify my role when I become a manager. I want to be a better orator, increase my
general awareness, and be good at networking and building long lasting relationships. But most of all, I
want to understand how a business functions. After my MBA, I want to join a company where I can
maximize my learnings. I am willing to put in those extra hours if it helps with my development. I want to
join a company where, I can at least participate in the decision making so that I can learn how to think

Long Term Goals:
In long term, job satisfaction is the most important thing for me. I want to do something which I am
happy doing. I want to learn about the functions of different departments i.e. Sales and Marketing,
Strategy, Business development, finance so that when I am at the decision making body of a company, I
am better equipped to take my decision. I want to have a job where in I can impact people’s lives in a
larger scale and can work towards its betterment.
4. Describe a situation when you had to accomplish an objective in an ambiguous situation.
What did you do to handle the situation? What was the outcome? What were your learnings?
Write 1-2 key specific learnings.
Ans. The most ambiguous situation I had faced was the initiation and organisation of Techfest in my
college. It was the first technical fest for my department and the society had just been functional for a
year.
The ambiguity was mainly because there were so many elements we were unaware of. The objective
obviously was successfully organising the fest and gathering maximum participation so that our society
can have more recognition in the campus. But, since it was the first time any of the committee members
were involved in such a thing, we knew that there’ll be problems arising when we organise the fest and we
had no clue how to mitigate these problems.
I decided to take every day one at a time and decided not to take any tension about these situations before
any such situations arise. Obviously, there were a million situations we faced and retrospectively, I think I
could have handled these situations better. But, at least I am satisfied by the way I conducted myself in
those situations.
Key learnings: Whatever the situations is, keep calm. Especially is you a leading, your attitude is the key
factor which can keep your subordinates motivated.
Also, you can plan and strategize all you want, but there will be some things which you cannot plan for.
The only thing that helps is believing in yourself.
1.Mention "one" personal improvement area that you have worked upon in the last one year.
vWhy do you feel the above area was an improvement area for you? How did you identify the
improvement area? What did you do to improve yourself in this area? Do you think you have
achieved your objective? What makes you think so? (300 words)
2. Tell us 3 things you have achieved, that instil pride in you. Substantiate your answer with solid
reasoning.(300 words)
3.At times, many of us are caught in a situation of moral conflict, where we have to choose
between two seemingly right alternatives. Give us one situation when you faced this conflict.
How did you resolve it? (300 words)
HR Submission 1

Ans. In the limited work experience I’ve had so far, and the organisational experience of working in
several societies and committees though-out my career, I have always give special importance to ethics
the way I have conducted myself. I was a part of a team of 3 in my company. We had to conduct the
tendering process for a new contract and we had called the bids of several vendors. In this team, we had a
new senior manager who had joined us from a different company recently and was working in his first
project. He accidently sent some classified information about the tendering process to the bidders in a
mail in the form of an attachment which was to be sent to the management of our company. Thought the
information was somewhere in the mail body of an attachment which was not easily noticeable, I
somehow noticed it. I recognized that this was indeed a genuine mistake on his part and I informed about
this to him immediately and asked him to recall his mail. He requested me to maintain silence and not say
this to anyone as he had recently joined the company, and this would put his job in jeopardy. I tried to
calm him down and asked him to do whatever he can to think of a way of first handling the crisis in hand
and told him that I’ll not be saying anything to anyone until the matter was handled. Now the dilemma
for me was whether to keep my mouth shut and let him handle the situation or to inform about this to
my manager. If I opted for the first option, the organisation’s interest would have been put in danger and
hence, in the end, I informed my reporting manager privately about this. I also told him that this would
have been purely accidental and requested him not to say anything if no harm is done to the company. In
this instance, I knew that I have a duty towards my organisation before any other thing, and hence, I
chose to do what was right.
4. Give us a list when you were either a President or led a team/club or committee? Describe
instances of leadership qualities. (500 words)
Also, in my college every society has to

showing how and to what scale my proposed strategy can help our society. And, when even this didn’t
convince some people, I had to just ask them to trust me. It took a lot of convincing and finally we voted
unanimously for my plan.
1. Provide an example when you approached your work with a mind-set of having limited
resources or time. Please include details of the context, the action you took and the
results that were achieved.(300 words)

Although I think that as I have laid focus on both academics and co-curricular activities
throughout my academic life, I have always faced some constraint when it comes to availability of
time. However, the best example for these kinds of situations shall be my 3rd year in college when
I was the president of the society for Civil Engineers in which I was working on reviving the
society. It was my 3rd year of college and hence, I had to prepare for my CAT examination,
prepare for placements and focus on my academics as well.
HR Submission 1

I made a timeline for myself according to the constraints I had. I knew I had to spend more time
towards fest organisation as the date for fest came close while spending consist hours towards
my CAT preparation and my academics. After I had finalised this plan, I made sure that I
adhered to this.

Apart from constraints in my personal life, I also faced constraints in the organization of the fest.
First was the unavailability of funds. We didn’t have funds and no one was willing to sponsor us
because we had no events/past work to showcase. Also, as we were initiating this event, we had
to reinvent the wheel as to what are the permissions involved, the methods to be used for
publicity, attracting participation etc.

Adhering to the plans was the hardest part but I did manage to do it. It was one of the semesters
when I ranked first in the department. I was among the few students who got placed in the best
Civil Engineering Company visiting our campus. And the fest was a huge success with an
overwhelming participation which convinced the faculty to permit us to organise it for the
subsequent years as well.

2. Reflect on a time when you turned down an opportunity. What was the thought process
behind your decision? Would you make the same decision today?(300 words)

I turned down an opportunity to go to NTU – Singapore for pursuing my bachelor’s education.

When I graduated from class XII, I had applied for both Indian engineering colleges as well as
Singapore colleges such as NUS and NTU. I got into good colleges in India as well as NTU.
Judging by the reviews of my peers as well as my seniors, and the research done by me, NTU was
a really good college with amazing career opportunities for students such as me. Also, I really
wanted to go abroad for my bachelors because of my deep interest in other cultures.

I hail from a small town in Chhattisgarh where people still differentiate between colleges on the
basis of whether it is “Government” or “Private”. Also, due to some instances that have
happened in my family, my mother is really apprehensive about me going anywhere outside
India. Furthermore, my father had recently met an accident and he was still suffering from some
post traumatic depression. Hence, it wasn’t actually a choice for me but yes, it was an opportunity
which I had to turn down. And I did regret it at that moment.

In retrospect, if I somehow get a chance to make the same decision again, I’ll still choose to be in
India if the constraints remain same. However, if these constraints are removed, I would want
choose NTU. It’s not that I have any complaints with what I did in India in my Bachelors and
post that. In fact it was more than what I hoped for. It’s just that, I would have got the same
education and opportunities I had here in addition to the immense exposure of different cultures
and ethnicities which would have helped me become a more mature and independent individual.

3. Do you think that your academic results were a true reflection of your academic abilities?
Please elaborate.(300 words)
I have always paid enough attention towards my academics, which reflects in my past academic
records, but there were some situations in which I think I could have performed better.
The first was my Xth Board examination. I think, in this competitive environment, 90% marks (which
I secured) are not enough to make you stand out. I know I had the potential to secure better grades
and still, due to some reasons I couldn’t. One reason was that I didn’t have the awareness about the
importance of good marks in X board. Subsequently, this also affected my willingness to work hard
HR Submission 1

so that I perform better. Though, I was the school rank 1, which according to me was good enough
at the time, it was much later that I realised 90% wasn’t good enough.
I worked hard after that and improved my aggregate marks by 5% to 95% in XII boards. Even after
that, I performed well in Delhi Technological University (DCE), securing Departmental Rank – 3,
which proves that I could have secured better marks in X class also, had I worked a little harder.
The second instance was my performance in IIT-JEE examination. I knew I had the potential to clear
the entrance test, but I couldn’t. Even though, I didn’t take any coaching and was focussing more on
my board exams, I still didn’t expect that I would not even secure a rank in the exam. I got 189 when
the cut-off was 190.
Even, though I wish I could have performed better in the above mentioned examinations, I still think
my performance in academics has been satisfactory as I have performed consistently well for 18 years
of my education even after being involved in many more co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
which has helped me in my overall development.
1. Describe a situation where you achieved something significant after overcoming obstacles.
When I first came to Delhi in XI standard from Chhattisgarh, I came with the ambition of giving my
best and getting an admission into the top engineering colleges after 2 years. My strong academic
record was my biggest strength so far but I was completely taken aback with the fierce competition
there. There was a stark difference in the ideologies and lifestyles of students which gave rise to my
inhibitions in interacting with my peers. The fact that I was not fluent in English only plunged my
confidence further. These factors reflected in my marks and I secured below average marks in XI
standard. The thought of performing well in XII looked like a distant dream now. However, I didn’t
lose hope. I worked on my language, practiced mirroring, started participating more in class, and this
helped me regain my confidence. I started getting better marks and this only motivated me to work
harder. I was finally enjoying the competition, and the result was that I ended up scoring 94.80% in
XII that put me in the top 0.15% of the Delhi state and also managed to get admission into one of
the top 10 colleges of the country.

2. Describe a situation where you initiated a new idea or approach and implemented it. How did you go
about it?
When I was selected as the President of the Society for Civil Engineers of my college, the society was
very dormant. Though it was initiated almost 12 years ago, it had only close to 35 members. I took
the task of reviving the society and hence, started working towards this goal. I first, gathered a team
who were equally enthusiastic about this idea. We made a goal for ourselves that in 1 year, every
student in college should know about the society. The first thing we did was organising a 3 day
technical week with interesting events so that people at least start noticing us. We didn’t have funds
and no one was willing to sponsor us because of the past record of the society. Hence, we took what
we had, gathered some funds from the teachers and then organised the event in the most cost
efficient way possible. The event’s success further motivated us. We started going to various
organisations, teachers, alumni, practically anyone we could find to raise funds. We kept on working
towards our goal and ended up organising our own technical fest with around 15 events and a footfall
of 1200. Today the society has organised around 100+ events and has around 1200 members.

3. Describe a situation where you had to persuade others to achieve a goal after overcoming resistance.
How did you go about doing it?
As the president, I initiated the technical fest of the Civil Society of my college. Although we were
focussing solely on events that highlighted the practical aspects of academics, I suggested organizing
some popular informal and gaming events as well, to attract participation for our new fest. Majority
of the committee members, including the faculty, were apprehensive about this. I then, met with
them, faculty and committee, separately, giving them examples of fests where this strategy has
HR Submission 1

worked and informed them about the huge difference in participation we can expect which will help
us build a good brand image. I also asked them to trust my decision and told them about the
contingency plans in case our idea doesn’t work. Finally, we voted unanimously for the plan and as a
result, our fest saw one of the highest footfalls among all the fests in college.

4. Successful leaders have clear sense of purpose. What is your statement of purpose?

There are innumerable opportunities present at every stage of our lives and I have tried my best to
choose the most of them and then work towards the ones, I was most passionate about. I have given
due importance to my education and my consistent excellent performance in academics, be it in
school or college, reflects that. But, the fact that I am proud of is, I have been able to excel equally
well in other fields as well. I was the president of 2 societies in college and led different teams of
almost 40 members each and was also the core member of some other societies. Apart from that, I
have always been true to my passion i.e. music and have won many competitions and performed as
the lead singer of both, my school and college music society.
The common thread among all these situations has always been that I was passionate for all of these.
For instance, I truly believed that a Society for Civil Engineers is necessary to provide practical
knowledge to the students. And that’s why I worked so hard towards reviving the society.
Even in IIM Lucknow, I am in the top 5 of my class academically, I got selected in Manfest
Varchasva committee which organises the fest in college, out of 200 applicants, and I also won the
Voice of IIML competition. I don’t want to miss out on any opportunity and hence, I am a bit
apprehensive about making up my mind about which industry I want to go for. I don’t want to limit
my options by choosing one domain on the basis of limited knowledge I have. And, that’s why I
think general management is the best option for me right now. The exposure to different functions
will endow me with diverse domain knowledge, deeper insight into people practices of different
industries and this will help me become a well-rounded and effective leader.

5. What do you propose to do in your career in short term and long term?
Short term goals:
I want to make the most out of coming to IIM Lucknow. I want to make use of the resources this
institute has and the expertise of the professors to enhance my knowledge about various functions of
business. After college, since I don’t want to limit my options, I want to join firms which offer
consulting or a general management role so that I can learn further about every domain of business
and then make an informed decision about where I want to end up.

Long Term Goals:

In long term, first of all I want to crystallize these learnings into becoming a major decision-maker for
reputed firm. Also, job satisfaction is the most important thing for me. I want to do something which
I am happy doing and want to have a job where in I can impact people’s lives on a larger scale.
1. Describe a challenging project or a seemingly impossible task which you have undertaken. What was the
outcome? (maximum 500 characters)
As the President of Society for Civil Engineers, I took up the task of reviving the society. The major problems
were the unavailability of funds and the lack of enthusiasm in the committee to organise events. We followed a
stepwise approach by gathering an enthusiastic team and raising funds. Then we laid focus on extensive
publicity and organizing events that appealed to the students. Eventually, we managed a significant
participation and the membership increased to 450+ during my tenure.

2. At times, many of us are caught in a situation of moral conflict, where we have to choose between two seemingly
right alternatives. Give us one situation when you faced this conflict. How did you resolve it? (maximum 500
characters)
HR Submission 1

While working in the contracts team of my company, it came to my notice that my senior manager had
accidently shared some classified information with the bidders. My dilemma was whether to report this to the
management as his mistake was genuine and this incidence could have made people question his integrity. Also,
this could have jeopardized our relationship resulting in my poor performance appraisal. However, giving
priority to the company’s interest, I informed this to my reporting manager.

While initiating the technical fest of the Civil Society of my college, I suggested organizing some popular
informal and gaming events to attract participation. Majority of the committee, including the faculty, was
apprehensive about this. I then, met with them separately giving them examples of fests where this strategy has
worked and informed them about the huge difference in participation we can expect which will help us build a
good brand image. Finally, we voted unanimously for the plan.

When I was selected as the President of Society for Civil Engineers in college, the society was very
dormant. Though it was initiated almost 12 years ago, it had only close to 35 members. I knew how
important the society can be in giving some much needed practical insights to the students and
hence, I took up the task of reviving the society. I first, gathered a team of people, who were equally
enthusiastic about this idea. We firstly organised a 3-day technical week so that people at least start
noticing us. We didn’t have funds and no one was willing to sponsor us because of our past record.
Hence, we took what we had and then organised the event in the most cost efficient way possible.
The event’s success further motivated us. We kept on working towards our goal and ended up
organising our own technical fest with around 15 events and a footfall of 1200. Today, the society has
organised around 100+ events and has around 1200 members.

When I first came to Delhi in XI standard from Chhattisgarh, I came with the ambition of giving my
best and getting an admission into a top engineering college after 2 years. However, I was completely
taken aback with the fierce competition there. There was a stark difference in the ideologies and
lifestyle of students which led to my inhibitions in interacting with them. The fact that I was not
fluent in English further plunged my confidence level. This reflected in my marks &I secured below
average marks in XI standard. However, I didn’t lose hope. I worked on my language, began
participating more in class, and this helped me regain my confidence. I started getting better marks
which motivated me to work harder. I was finally enjoying the competition, and the result was that I
ended up scoring 94.80% in XII that put me in top 0.15% students of Delhi state and also managed
to get an admission into one of the top 10 colleges of India.

I had to develop a website for IIM Lucknow’s annual fest from the scratch within a stringent
timeline. Being a Civil Engineer, I had little experience in this area. The situation took an unexpected
turn when the website developer suddenly left 10 days before I had to deliver the site. Considering
the approaching deadline, I started creating exact templates to be implemented while actively
searching for a new developer. When I finally found the developer, I laid out a detailed timeline to
ensure smooth flow of work.I devoted extra hours to coordinate with him to develop a better user-
interface and brainstormed on ideas that made the website more interactive. We adhered to these
timelines and were finally able to launch the website successfully.
