BMIS 33135 MULTIMEDIA LAB 5: ANIMATIONS (3D) –4 hours 35 Marks

Semester March 2017

INTRODUCTION

This lab is to assess the students’ ability to try out any open source 3D animation software. Upon
completion of this lab session, students are expected to be able to:
1. explain the use of various free open source 3D animation software to create animation.
2. use the suitable 3D animation software to draw images and animate them.
3. explore other available free open source 3D animation software for self-learning.

ACTIVITIES
Download any free open source 3D animation software and explore various tutorials about it online. You
can choose from this list: Blender, Bryce, Daz Studio, Clara.io, etc. You should:
1. produce various images and animate them creatively in 3D animation.
2. write a simple report to explain about:
- software that you choose and justify why you choose it.
- the animation that you have created.
- processes that you have done to produce the animation with that respective software.
3. submit:
- the softcopy of you animation in any playable format for Windows
- a report within the due date.
Tips: Search for various animation tutorials online at www.youtube.com .
