CMS – Wind Turbine Condition

Monitoring

Challenge
Within the wind energy market it is increasingly important to avoid downtime and lost production. Early identification
of developing issues is critical to enable optimisation of planning to rectify faults during suitable weather windows
before they become failures. This moves maintenance from reactive (run to failure) basis to a more cost effective
mix of predictive (condition based) & planned maintenance. Remote vibration monitoring is a proven method for
early detection of damage to the drivetrain, forming a core element of managing the risk of a major failure or a
significant repair.

Further Information
CMS (Wind Turbine Vibration Monitoring)
· We are experienced in delivering remote vibration monitoring
using the range of available systems (SKF, B&K, Bachmann,
G&J/TCM etc)

· Every wind turbine vibration system is reviewed every

working day. Where a system has flagged an alarm or at the
request of the client, vibration data and trends for that
turbine will be reviewed in detail.

· Detailed vibration analysis and diagnostics will always be

performed by an accredited technician.

· Advanced processing technique is applied on the vibration

signals to extract the features indicative of turbine health.

· The resulting diagnostics information will provide initial root

cause suggestions and recommended actions in order to
best achieve targeted maintenance.
