This activity helps with the key word transformations section of the Use of English paper.
There are 9 questions in this quiz. Complete the second sentence so that it has a similar
meaning to the first sentence, using the word given. Do not change the word given. You must
use between two and five words, including the word given.

Key Word Transformations Exercise 1

In these exercises, you need to take the information in the first


sentence and re-write it, using the word in bold so that the second
sentence has exactly the same meaning. You cannot change the word
in bold in ANY way. You can use only a maximum of FIVE words for
each space. Only use contractions for negatives: e.g. don't / hadn't /
wouldn't, etc.
