line and the Origin Point; in the Property Manager select a

Midpoint relation. The rectangle will move in the graphic area to snap

button down and drag a little bit. The Dimension dialog box
appears. Enter 2 (inches)and click OK (Ok is the green
checkmark). Do the same for the other side; enter a value of 3 inches.

Now the sketch changes to black line as you see here:

In the Status Bar we can see a message--that the

sketch is Fully Defined. This means the sketch segments can't

move in space and no dimensions or relations are needed. It is very important to found
your models on sketches that are fully defined!

Next, select the diagonal line and in the Property Manager select For Constrction;
now we are ready to exit the sketch by clicking on the checkmark in

the upper right hand corner of your screen. Take an Isometric

view. Let's go the Features tab and

activate the Extruded Boss/Base tool. In the Boss-Extrude Property Manager,

on the From section, selection Sketch Plane. Under Direction 1, select Blind and in the
Depth field enter a value of 1 inch; click OK (the green checkmark
at the top of the property manager). This is what you will see on your screen--your first
