Here's what we're learning this week:

Turn over for more information →

Reading: This week we are going to build off from schema and metacognition, and
introduce inferring! Inferring is the process of using schema with evidence to make a solid
inference (guess)

Phonics: We will continue to practice the many ending blends we have learned over the last
few weeks.

Writing: Continuing to plan and write some amazing small moment stories.

Grammar: Learning how to use a comma in a series.

Math: Working on solving mixed problems (addition or subtraction) and ending the week
with learning how to add 3 addends.

Social Studies/Science: Finishing up economics with families at work and then moving onto
geography.

Other news:

● Valentines Day: Valentines day is next week Wednesday. For Valentines day, please
have your student bring in a decorated box to receive valentines in and 24 valentines
to pass out. Their valentines only need their name on them, not the person they are
for. This helps with the passing out process.
● Star of the Day: The star of the day will bring in a favorite bedtime book. The book
that always needs to be read before they can go to bed...you know the one ;)

Dates of Importance:

● Feb. 14- Valentines day

● Feb. 16- NGFA Carnival
● Mar. 5- Half day, parent teacher conferences
