JWL Coeff For He

This document provides equation of state coefficients for 38 high explosives that have been compiled and computerized by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. It describes the Jones-Wilkins-Lee equation of state used to model detonation products and lists coefficients that were rigorously determined from experimental data or estimated where limited data was available. Some coefficients were corrected based on the most recent memo from August 23, 1972 regarding PBX-9404 and IX-04.

JWL EQUATION OF STATE COEFFICIENTS FOR HIGH EXPLOSIVES

E. Lee, M. Finger, W. C o l l i n s

Introduction

The compilation of equetions of s t a t e f o r high explosives now includes

some 38 e n t r i e s . Additions and r e v i s i o n s have r e c e n t l y introduced e r r o r s i n
the l i s t i r g s . To avoid t r a n s c r i b i n g e r r o r s , we have computerized t h e l i s t
and w i l l i s s u e computer updates p e r i o d i c a l l y .

Previous l i s t s should be discarded. If you are maintaining equation

of s t a t e f i l e s f o r hydrodynamic codes and would l i k e I B M card r e c o r d s of our

t h o s e e n t r i e s where changes o r c o r r e c t i o n s have been made. O f s p e c i a l note
f o r t h i s update are t h e c o r r e c t i o n s t o PBX-9404 and IX-04 from t h e most r e c e n t
