The Eurocode Standards

The Eurocodes are a series of 10 European standards (EN 1990-1999) that provide design standards for structural engineering. They cover various materials like concrete, steel, timber, masonry, aluminium and design considerations such as actions, geotechnical design, composite structures, bridges, earthquake resistance. Each Eurocode has multiple parts that cover specific aspects. In total there are 58 parts distributed across the 10 Eurocodes. Parts 1-1 cover general design rules for buildings while Part 1-2 addresses fire design. Concrete, steel, composite, timber and earthquake Eurocodes also have a Part 2 on bridge design.
