They then install the SQL gateway, launch the license manager, enter the activation ID, and the license is activated. SQL Gateway – License Activation

SQL gateway is a standalone tool to be installed on a windows PC (or virtual machine). It has been introduced with
SoMachine V4.2 and SoMachine Motion V4.4.
It allows a SoMachine or SoMachine Motion controller (acting as an SQL client) to communicate to a database.

1. Licensing of the SQL Gateway


Once you have installed the SQL gateway, a Trial period of 42 days starts.

You need to order a license SQL for SoMachine and SoMachine Motion (part number: SOMSQLCZZSPMZZ).
This part number provides you a license for a single SQL Gateway (unlimited time)

This product is a Printed License (as opposed to a virtual virtual license) and needs to be ordered through the
standard hardware ordering process to Newlog (not through MRO).

The customer will receive a piece of paper (Entitlement) with a unique Activation ID that he will need to use to
register the SQL gateway.

2. Installation of the SQL Gateway


There are 2 ways to install the SQL gateway.

1.1 Installation from the DVD


Insert the DVD of SoMachine (or USB Drive)
Go to the DVD root directory and then start \Tools\SqlGateway\SqlGateway.exe

3. License activation process
 Open the SQL Gateway Console Software:


 Go to Settings  License, and click on Launch License Manager

 In the Schneider Electric License Manager, click on Activate, select By web (easiest way with an internet
connection) and Next:

 Enter the Activation ID that you received on your License Entitlement (piece of paper with the unique code
on it) and press Next:

 Activation is performed

 When successful, you have then the possibility to add this license to your Schneider Electric Web Account
(recommended):

You have successfully activated the following license(s) on this PC:


A-K62F-C6YX-HVPG - SQL for SoMachine and SoMachine Motion 1.0

You can now use the software according to the End User License Agreement
terms.

In addition you can benefit from the following services if you decide to register your
license into a Web User Account:
1. Permanent storage of your license Activation IDs in case of Certificate of
Authenticity loss.
2. All-in-one-place and permanent knowledge of: date of license activation, e-
mail address of the user who activated the license, remaining number of
possible activations, remaining usage time in case of a time-limited license.
3. Possibility to re-activate your license on this PC after a hard disk replacement
or an upgrade of the Windows operating system.
4. Possibility to move your license from this PC to another one in case of a PC
replacement.

If you decide to register your license at a later time, use the menu entry "Register
license into my account" in the "Task" menu of this utility.

To register now your license or create a Web User Account:

 By web: click below on the Proceed button.


It will open your Internet browser software on http://www.schneider-
electric.com/register

 By phone: contact the Software Registration Center.


Use the menu entry “Support” in the “Help” menu to get the contact details.

 I you have clicked on “Proceed”, you can now create a Schneider Electric Web User Account (if you don’t
have one already).
Everyone that has already registered SoMachine should have a Schneider Electric Web User Account.

 Optional: you can verify that the SQL gateway has been successfully registered in the License Manager.

 Inside the SQL Gateway, the word [Trial] or [Test] has disappeared from the SQL Gateway console
Header.
