SAR Interferometry - How Does It Work?: Antenna 1 Antenna 2

SAR interferometry uses two antennas to transmit radar signals and receive the returns. By comparing the phase difference between the returns, SAR interferometry can determine the exact location a return came from, rather than just knowing it came from somewhere along a circle as with single antenna SAR. This allows SAR interferometry to measure tiny changes in terrain or structures over time or between images.
