Lesson 1:
Every grade level will begin with 5 minutes of keyboarding practice from one of the keyboarding
websites on their Activities page.
Next, students will complete the word processing activities below. For kindergarten, the word
processing activity is intended to be done together as a class.

Techknowledge Lesson - Keying Text
In KidPix - Students will type their name and/or
letters of the alphabet. Once they have typed
letters and/or their name encourage students to
change their font/size/color.

Lesson 1:
Microsoft Excel- Here students are introduced the basic aspects of Excel formulas. The students match
the money amounts for each letter in the words provided in excel template to figure out how much
money each word is worth. Answers recorded on corresponding sheet.

Lesson 2:
In this lesson elementary students create a PowerPoint presentation over the basics of
CyberBullying. There are 3 links that students will need to visit to find information (they are included in
the assignment). I like to have the links up on Moodle or a site like that, so students can click on them,
rather than having to type them manually. This activity will take approximately 1 hour to complete,
depending on ability level.

Lesson 1:
This five week unit will include basic PowerPoint terminology and skills for our elementary students. The
last two weeks of the unit will be a PowerPoint project that can be displayed in the lab or in the
classrooms during Public Schools Week.
