1.0 DETAILS
2.0 RATIONALE
The Training/Workshop is a two-Friday detailed lecture and “hands-on” on structural analysis and design using
the Midas Gen – Integrated Solution System for Building and General Structures.
This Training/Workshop will provide practicing Structural Engineers and Civil Engineers at different stages in their
careers with a comprehensive overview of the new features and required “know-how” on how to utilize and optimize
using engineering software/program to effectively model, analyze and design various structural building elements.
At the end of this Training/Workshop, the participants will have an overall idea of how to use the featured
engineering software to analyze and design structures.
In this regard, the Association of Structural Engineers of the Philippines (ASEP) Regional Coordinating Committee-
Qatar (ASEP RCC Qatar) will be conducting a training/workshop that aims to enhance the basic knowledge and
skills of Civil Engineers and providing a highly practical learning experience for participants.
3.0 OBJECTIVES
General Objective:
This Training/Workshop aims to enhance the basic knowledge and skills of Filipino Civil / Structural Engineers
utilizing design aids and latest engineering software/program.
Specific Objectives:
1. To present basic principles of structural analysis and design.
2. To present latest available design aids/tools.
3. To familiarize participants with the Midas Gen structural engineering software.

4.0 SEMINAR/TRAINING FORMAT
The CPD Program will be delivered by parts in which each participant will be earning their certificate after finishing
the two-Friday training/workshop.
Training/Workshop will start at 7:00 a.m. for the registration with sessions to begin at 8:00 a.m. and adjourn at
5:00 p.m. There will be 10‐minute mid‐morning and afternoon breaks. Buffet lunch is included from 12:10 pm to
12:50 pm.
6.0 PRE‐REQUISITES
Attendees maybe required to bring a laptop and a scientific calculator to the training/workshop to assist with
the calculations.
