ALCMS Components
Industrial Grade Computers
As per FAA AC 150/5345-56 all of the computers used in all
locations of the ALCMS system are industrial grade computers
designed for industrial applications. These computers are much more
reliable and have a greater processing power than normal computer. It is
important to have a reliable industiral computer to ensure that there are
no unexpected and potentially dangerous interruptions to the lights on
the airfield. The computers use Intel™ core processors, have the capacity
for additional RAM use Windows operating system with ALCMS software
and database. All computers also include keyboard and mouse. Mobile
computer units are also available to control and monitor the system

It is recommend that all computer cabinets have a UPS placed
