CHAPTER 2: BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS DOCUMENTS

1.Introduction

Bookstore Management System is the web application to automate all kinds of opera-
tions in the book shop. The purpose of this software is to manage the books in the book store.
Generally, it includes the Order Processing, Stock Management and Accounts Management.
We developed this software to maintains records of sales, purchase and staff records. This
project developed using ASP.NET as front end and SQL Server as Back end. Here we are try
to develop such type system which is provide the automation on the any type of the
bookshop. That means a shop which has the type system which provides the facility to the
customers of the shop to purchase the books from the shop without any complexity.

1.1 Project Summary

1.1.1 Objectives

Bookstore Management System is to record the details various activities of user. It


simplifies the task and reduce the paper work. Book store management system should
generate sales statistics (book name, publisher, ISBN number, number of copies sold and the
sales revenue) for any period.

1.1.2 Background

The Student Information System (SIS) is as management information system for


education establishments to manage student data. Student information system provide the
capabilities for the data entry, data tracking, and data information needs of the Human
Resources management and scheduling functions within the business. It aids all the process
needed for tracking, recording and generations of reports. Human Resource Part 3 include
the following sub-modules.

 Employee and guest is the primary target of this system and in return it helps them and
user to lessen the interruption or hassle in their selecting of books.

1. 2 Project Scope

It can be used in any type of Bookstore Managing all the sales and purchase activities
and managing the data records related to Book House.

1.2.1 In Scope Functionality

The Features that are available to the Admin are:

 A Admin can issue a book to the student.


 Can view the different categories of books available in the library.
 Can view the List of books available in each category.
 Can take the book returned from students.
 add books and their information of the books to the database.
 Edit the information of the existing books.
 Can Check the report of the issued Books.
 Can Access all the accounts of the students.

The features available to the Guest are:

 Can view the List of books available in each category


 Can own an account in the Bookstore.
 can view the books issued to him.

1.2.2 Out Scope Functionality

The system prepared is competent but we cannot say that is a perfect system. This
system like any other system has some Flaws & shortcomings in it.

1.3.1 Assumptions

● Locked of knowledge about the whole transaction of the business process

1.3.3 Risk

To reduces the circumstances under which this requirement might not able to be
satisfied all the designers must have been developed web sites previously and they must be
aware of html restriction and cross browsers implementations before starting the designing. In
order to reduce the probability of this occurrence the entire design team will be trained in
basic HTML development and macromedia fireworks% this tool will be used instead of
Photoshop.

1.3.4 Issues

● Lack of budget

2 Business Process Overview

The list of "functional and nonfunctional requirements which are applicable to the
Library Management System is as follows

• (User Interfaces)
Describes how this product interfaces with the user.

Description -The user interface must be customizable by the administrator

Criticality - This issue is essential to the overall system. all the modules provided with the
software must fit into this graphical user interface and accomplish to the standard defined.

Technical Issues -In order to satisfy this requirement, the design should be simple and all the

different interfaces should follow a standard template. There will be the possibility of changing
colors and images plus switching between interfaces with the minimum impact for the users.

Dependencies & it other requirements -user interfaces should be able to interact with the
user management module and a part of the interface must be dedicated to the log-
in
logout module
