Logarithmic- is the inverse of an exponential function

Exponential: bx = c  Logarithmic: LogbC = x “Loop and Swoop”

Solving an Exponential Equation

Solving an exponential equation take the “common log” of both sides

Common log- is log10- it is the button on the calculator.

Allows us to use Power to a power property and create a multiplication problem

Solving a Logarithmic equation


To Condense PPMAN backwards NAMPP
Must condense log function on each side of the equation (can only

Take the Natural Log (Ln) of both sides. Lne- similar to common log, but has a base of e.
