Free Time Fun

Hi. I’m Vlad and I’m from Russia. I love sports – all kinds of sports! In my country, winter
sports are very popular, and I play ice hockey. I’m actually a professional player and I even
have a silver medal from the Winter Olympics.

Every morning I go for a run in the park near my house. In the summer holidays, I like
walking in the mountains, and in winter I go skiing in the mountains.

Ice hockey isn’t the only sport I like. I play football, too. I always play with my old friends from
school and we play in a big park. I don’t play rugby, but I love watching it on TV. Sometimes,
I go to rugby matches with my girlfriend. She loves it, too.

I’ve got a ping-pong table at home. Sometimes, my friends come to my house at the
weekends and we have a match. People in China and Korea are very good at table tennis,
but it’s not very popular in Russia.

I do a lot of sport and I think my diet is healthy, too; I eat a lot of fish, and fresh fruit and
vegetables, but I don’t eat a lot of red meat. But my life isn’t all sport. I like relaxing too. I go
out at night and play computer games – when I have time!

Example: People in Russia like winter sports.
