OBJECTIVES The goal of this module is to introduce student to understand the


fundamental of steering system.

Students will be able to know how to understand the construction of


modern steering systems.

The module equally addressed the components that will help


students develop the ability to understand the important of using
different type of steering system in modern vehicle.

It also analyses the students’ ability to distinguish various types of


steering system used in modern automobile.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon successful completion of the module, the student will
be able to:
 To learn and analyse the different type of steering systems – re-
circulating ball and nut and rack and pinion plus the steering
system construction, function and etc
 To understand steering linkages, steering columns & etc
 To understand and differentiate power steering system
 To explore what are the components of steering systems
 To familiarize with the procedure of Steering system service

teaching and discussion, and through assignments and assessments.
TEACHING-LEARNING
The teaching and learning strategy is designed to encourage a
STRATEGY
deep approach to learning with an emphasis on knowledge based,
skill based & technique based learning suitable to industry through
the use of teams (working teams) and problem solving. The module
will specifically exploit and explore the issues that arise.
The teaching/learning strategy for this module has been designed
to ensure that the program level learning outcomes will be
acquired. Various forms of teaching strategy would be employed
to provide stimulation and participation amongst students. These
will either one or combination which include exercises, assignment,
interactive handouts and experiential tasks.

MODE OF DELIVERY The mode of delivery for this module is on a full time basis and if
there is a demand, the module may be delivered on a part-time
basis.
