Capacitance of Transformer

The document discusses methods for calculating different capacitance parameters in transformers. It describes how to calculate the ground capacitance Cg, which is the sum of the capacitance C1 between the impulsed winding and grounded low voltage winding, and the capacitance C2 between the impulsed high voltage winding and the grounded tank. It also describes how to calculate the series capacitance Cs, which is the sum of the inter-turn capacitance Ct and the inter-disc capacitance Cd. Formulas are provided for calculating each of these capacitance values based on properties of the transformer windings and dielectric materials.

Calculating Capacitance Parameters in transformers:

Ground capacitance calculations:

Ground capacitance Cg = C1 + C2

C1 is the capacitance between impulsed winding and the grounded LV winding on the same
limb.

C2 is capacitance between impulsed HV winding of the side limb and the grounded
transformer tank.
