Students will learn about community helpers through reading books, watching videos, art projects, and role playing activities. They will create a 3D model or drawing of their own community including a fire station, police station, school, hospital and two other helpers. Students will learn the roles and symbols of helpers like teachers, doctors, firefighters and police officers. The unit aims to teach that all people play important roles in a community.
