I. Introduction
The Philippine education system in the secondary level is still in its traditional roots. Grades and the
very understanding of the subject material are very much reliant on the test scores of the students, and all
instruction load are teacher based. Oftentimes, this traditional system impedes the growth of every student,
and the whole education system in general. One of the problems that it creates is that students are
encapsulated to the curriculum. Furthermore, the students could not asses nor validate whether or not
instruction is sufficient, and efficient. All of these would lead to inadequacy of literacy brought by the traditional
system of education in the country.
In this regard, this concept paper will dwell on the Idea of Interactive Peer Tutoring Sessions. This
would not only be a single event, but a continuous program of events whose aim is to empower students to
think more critically by letting them see what lies beneath the curriculum and have a chance to take it the
higher heights.
