1.0 Introduction
1.1 Data logger
A data logger (data recorder) is an electronic device that records data over
time or in relation to location either with a built in instrument or sensor or via
external instruments and sensors
They are based on a digital processor (or computer)
They are generally small, battery powered, portable, and equipped with a
microprocessor, internal memory for data storage, and sensors

During accident occur, what will happen to the passenger and driver during that
situation?
Which type of the contact surface take the time of collision more faster?

3.1 Equipment and Apparatus
Apparatus Function
Air Track An air track is used to study motion in
low friction environment. Air is pumped
through a hollow track with fine holes all
along the track that allows specially
fitted air track cars to glide relatively
friction-free.

Toy car Toy cars are perfect vehicles for a wide
variety of science experiments, which
can tell a lot about things like energy,
inertia, momentum, friction and vectors.
Wood block & Spoon Wood and spoon are used to make
experiments in these experiments to
determine the time taken for the collision
to occur.

k) By using the data provided, you can calculate the time taken during collision
occur and calculate the force act during collision occur.
l) You may repeat the experiment by using sponge as the collision with flexible
surface contact.
3.4 Discussion
1. Define the momentum of an object.
2. What type of surface is can decrease the time taken during collision?
3. What type of surface is good in increasing the time taken during collision?
4. Either sponge or wood, which one have larger force acted on the object?
5. Either sponge or wood, which one have larger momentum acted on the object?
6. Define momentum (p) as the product of mass (m) and velocity (v) by using the
formula 𝐼 = ∆𝑃 = 𝑀𝑉𝐹 − 𝑀𝑉𝐼
7. State the principle of conservation of linear momentum?
8. Describe application of principle of conservation of linear momentum?
9. Solve problem involving linear momentum?
10. How collision is occurs?
11. State two types of collision?
12. During collision occur, what is the amount of kinetic energy after and before the
collision?
13. State the principle of momentum immortality
14. What can influences the velocity
15. What influences the increase of momentum
16. How to reduce momentum in a long time
17. Between lorries and cars, which have a greater momentum and a small
momentum
18. If the small power collision, what is applicable to the force of impulse
19. You can catch a fast moving ping-pong ball easily with your bare hand. A
softball keeper must wear glove to catch a hard fast moving softball. Why is a
slow moving softball much easier to catch?
20. When the ball on the left of Newton's cradle is pulled to the side and dropped
off, the ball at the right end will swing at the same speed as the first ball. Explain
in terms of momentum and energy transfer, why the ball at the opposite end
oscillates.

3.5 Result
Through experiments conducted, there are some data differences that we get with the
software tracker. From experiments conducted using two types of surface ie sponge and
wooden block, there is a difference in terms of impulse value and momentum that can be.
Below is one of the impulse values that has been calculated based on the graph using the
software tracker:-
∆𝑇 = 0.03 𝑠 ∆𝑇 = 0.13 𝑠
𝐼⃗ = ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
∆𝑃 = ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
𝑚𝑣𝑓 − 𝑚𝑣⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗𝑖 𝐼⃗ = ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
∆𝑃 = ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
𝑚𝑣𝑓 − 𝑚𝑣⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗𝑖
= (0.18)(+0.17) − (0.18)(−0.78) = (0.18)(0.63) − (0.18)(−0.98)
= 0.17 𝑘𝑔. 𝑚/𝑠 (0.14 + 0.03) = 0.29 𝑘𝑔. 𝑚/𝑠 (0.18 + 0.11)
𝐼 𝐼
𝐼 = ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
𝐹𝑛𝑒𝑡 . ∆𝑡 → 𝐹𝑛𝑒𝑡 = 𝐼 = ⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗⃗
𝐹𝑛𝑒𝑡 . ∆𝑡 → 𝐹𝑛𝑒𝑡 =
∆𝑡 ∆𝑡
0.17 0.29
= =
0.03 0.13
= 5.7𝑁 = 2.23𝑁
After the experiment was performed and the data were taken using the tracker
software, the collision on the surface of the sponge took longer than the surface of the
wood. Therefore, the value of wood impulses is greater than the value of impulse sponge.

4.0 Enhance
Fatal accidents on the road can be overcome because of the strong impacts that can be
absorbed by a soft surface. Name the tool in the vehicle which serves as extending the
duration of the violation when there is a strong impact.
5.2 More than one data can be plotted on the same graph
More than one data can be plotted on the same graph. The graph can be made using
this software. Usually this combination of graphs is needed to facilitate the
comparison of graphs with different variables made.

6.0 Conclusion
This data logger commonly are used in experiment that related to physics field. This
software very useful especially for student to make sure they understand the true concept
in physics and get the accurate reading during conduct the experiment. Furthermore,
everybody can use this simple one software because commonly user will using the same
step to insert the video and key in the data based on the video. Tracker Software is one of
the data logging that connect the experiment with the computer by using tracker software
as the sensor.
