Present Simple or Present Continuous

The document discusses the difference between using the present simple and present continuous tenses in English. The present simple is used to describe permanent or general truths, while the present continuous is used to describe temporary situations or actions happening now. Some verbs like "know", "like", and verbs describing senses are generally not used in the present continuous as they describe mental processes or permanent qualities rather than ongoing actions. The present continuous of "be" is used to talk about current behavior rather than a characteristic.
