Nearly all properties had 1st & 2nd mortgages for total loan to (inflated) value of
95% to 100%.

United Homes, Autumn Equities, etc have been the defendants in many lawsuits
over defective construction, building collapses, predatory lending, etc. According
to the lawsuits, United Homes bought 3rd-rate properties, painted & plastered
and then flipped them for 2 to 3 times their true value.

Given foreclosures, losses on 2nd mtgs, inflated property values, etc a


reasonable estimate of the losses incurred by the investors in CSFB trusts from
the above United Home loans/properties is approximately $26-27 million.
