This house, as Iran, would cease all support for military

groups in the Middle East (e.g. Hezbollah, Hamas,

Houthis, etc.).

GOV
1. To recover global trust
 Iran has just been released from a very severe economical sanction from UN because of
conducting nuclear weapon development, but US under trump is not really keen on the decision,
saying the denuclearization fake, this news is re emerging has just 2 days I am writing this.
 If Iran is seen as a warmonger, supporting wars here and there, US will have justification to accuse
Iran in keeping nuclear as the tension between iran and other country is high, nuclear is the main
protection when possibly threatening their safety at home. Futhermore, US doesn’t really like the
presence of Hamas or any other mentionned group above, considering them as terrorists. Note
that Hamas itself is a party that mobilize palestinians to endlessly attack Israel.
 Hezbollah also seen as a fighter group that protect assad's regime, in which US disagree with (note
that US allies is in a war with assad).

2. Iran needs to secure its economical recovery first in the post-sanction state.

3. Supporting through economical assistance to recover the neighboring shiite-dominant country is

more sustainable than military support.
OPP
1. Iran should protect the belt of shia as a buffering state as sunni influence become stronger
thorughout region

2. Supporting Hezbollah and Hamas will increase Iran legitimacy at home as they are the group that
fight Israel's and Islamic state (which most muslim hate)
 When the humanity crisis in Palestine is being ignored by saudis-us allies in region, it leads into
some muslims see it as an ignorant and ego-centric actions that undermine the spirit of muslim
brotherhood
 When iran supports Hamas which has shiite ideology leaning fighting so called evil-israel, iran will
soon regain trust from global muslim community that sees shiite as no more than psychpatic cult
not acknowledged by islam.
 When iran supports hamas in syria and lebanon also fighting for Islamic state, IS is a common
economy of every nation throughout middle east. The action of Iran and hezbollah against IS
affect lebaneese christian and sunni community to be more neutral on the presence of hezbollah.
it also opens European countries to support Iran legitimacy in region, note that UK strongly
opposes US decision to implement billateral ecomomical sanction by sayng that Iran is not
applying its "denuclearization".

3. No need to gain the trust from US, Trump doesn’t know how geopolitics works
4. Letting groups like Hezbollah down which dominate the political influence in countries like
lebanon is dangerous
 If hezbollah lose its power due to funding shortage, its influence in lebanon will be depreciated as
lebaneese gov stand neutral and have leaning in supporting shiite majority is because it is afraid
any counter action will anger hesbollah and majority of shiite in the population.
 It leads into the success of sunni countries to counter-balance the might of shiite insurgecy groups
like hezbollah. E.g :Saudi arabia is funding lebanon or any nearest nations to control and dominate
sunni influence in negihnoring countries, including Lebanon that reveive 4 billion dollar annually.
