If listening to music all day doesn’t already sound like

But it’s not all fun and games.

Charlie Dixon, 32, freelance creative producer

From flamboyant birthday bashes for the mega-wealthy (“The best

had a chart-topping band, thousands of white roses and a flash
mob of dancers – for just 20 guests”) to booking Mermaid School
for the Secret Garden Festival, Charlie puts together some of the
most extravagant, immersive experiences in the world. Her role can
include booking and designing venues, securing artists for intriguing
installations and sourcing one-off costumes – think of Charlie as
a party planner on an epic scale (and with equally epic budgets).
“I’ve had disasters,” Charlie admits. “I was working on a dance
event in 2012 when it was shut down on the first night for fears of
overcrowding. No one was allowed on or off the site, including major
artists, who were furious. What a lesson in crisis management.”
Keen to follow in her footsteps? “The key skill is attention to

one thing and it’ll come back to bite you.” In the run-up to big
events, there are sleepless nights, but it’s worth it. “I turn amazing
ideas into fantastic parties – what could be more exciting?”

a chef and a 14-year vegan (she
eats no meat or dairy). “I don’t
think healthy food has to be dry or

as she proves in her new cookbook
Chloe Flavor (Random House; R521),
which has, yes, a few salads but also
a deep bench of rich, flavourful pastas,
curries, burgers and desserts.
Even better? Her recipes don’t
require hours in the kitchen tinkering

shame you if you’re not ready to give

“Some people see veganism as an
