DETAILED ESTIMATES FOR MAJOR MATERIALS

PILE CAP
Cross-sectional Area: (actual calculation)
(0.50m x 0.6m) + (1.00m x 0.2m) + (0.5m x 0.2m x 0.2m) = 0.52 sq.m.
Total volume:
0.52m² x 354.0 m = 184.08m³, say 185 m³

Materials:
 Cement: Use 40kg. bag, class A (1:2:4)
185 cu. m. x 9.0 = 1665 bags
 Sand: 185 cu. m. x 0.5 = 92.5 cu. m.
 Gravel: 185 cu. m. x 1.0 = 185 cu. m.
 Ties:
 For 10mm diameter vertical bars:

2 x (364)

2 x (464)

464 mm 3 x (29) ------------- bending allowance

2 x (43) ------------- bending allowance

+ 2 x (100) ------------ hook allowance

2029mm, say 2.1 m

364 mm

Using 10.5m bar,

1pc. 10.5m bar= 5pcs. 2.1m
@ 354.0m total length with ties 0.3m spaced O.C.,
354.0m/ 0.3m= 1180pcs. + 1= 1181pcs.
1181pcs/ 5 = 236.2pcs = 237pcs 10.5m, 10mm dia. Bar

 For 12mm vertical bars

2 x 933
66
2 x 85
538
329
100
148
2 x 100
2 x (28) ------------- bending allowance
2 x (42) ------------- bending allowance
3557 mm, say 3.6 m
Using 7.5m bar,
1pc. 7.5m bar= 2pcs. 3.75m
@ 354.0m total length with ties 0.3m spaced O.C.,
354.0m/ 0.3m= 1180pcs. + 1= 1181pcs.
1181pcs/ 2 = 590.5pcs = 591pcs 7.5m, 12mm dia. Bar

 Reinforcement Bars (based on direct counting):

 Using 6m length for 16mm dia. rebars,

o No. of pcs. = 65 x 6 = 390pcs. 16mm dia., 6m bars
= 3693.3 kls. (based on standard weight of steel bars)
 Using 6m length for 10mm dia. Rebars,
o No. of pcs. = 65 x 10= 650pcs.,10mm dia.,6m bars
= 2405 kls.
 Total weight: 6098.3 kls.

 Tie wires:

 Cutting into 40cm length,

o No. of intersections (direct counting):
66 x (20 int., say 40) = 2640 intersections with allowance
2640 x 40cm = 1056m
= 19.92 kg, say 20 kg G.I. Wire
o Note:
1. One roll is equivalent to 45 kg or approximately 2385 meters at 53
meters per kilogram.
2. A 25 to 40cm long tie wire folded at the center is satisfactory.
WEEPHOLES

 354.00 ln.m. / 2.00m = 177pcs-1= 176

176 x 3pcs per cross section = 528pcs
Each weep hole= 0.50m length
Total length of pipe= 0.50m x 528pcs. =264m

RUBBLE CONCRETE (Class B mix),40kg

 Boulders = 784.29 cu.m.

 Concrete (estimated 50% of the total volume of the Rubble Concrete)
Volume: 0.5 x 784.29 cu.m. = 392.15 cu.m.

 Cement:
392.15 cu.m x 7.5 = 2941.125, say 2942 bags
 Sand:
392.15 cu.m x 0.5 = 196.07 cu.m., say 197 cu.m.
 Gravel:
392.15 cu.m x 1.0 = 392.15 cu.m, say 393 cu.m.
