Geotechnical Engineering Lab

This lab course aims to familiarize students with procedures for assessing soil properties through conducting soil classification tests, determining index properties like density and grain size, consistency limits, permeability, compaction characteristics, shear strength parameters using direct shear, triaxial, and vane shear tests, California Bearing Ratio for subgrade evaluation, and consolidation behavior. Students will perform 15 different soil tests and interpret experimental results.
