As an Mechanical engineer my duty’s and responsibility’s at above project is
mentioned below,
After receiving new floor portion drawing, dissections are arrange between
subcontractors and consultant to solve issues are raised with new arrangement for
servicers.
Technical detail of materials are interchanged with consultant and subcontractors to
minimized unnecessary time delay for material approvals.
Inspection are arrange with the third party inspectors for the site installation. (NDT
for the fell down Chilled water pipes) (Figure 1&2)
Inspections are arrange with the consultant for site materials such as panel board, light
fitting, etc… ( Ex - inspections arrange for the KIK panel board @ Katunayaka)
Inspection have arrange for material installation with consultant and subcontractors.
Coordinate and oversees all site installations with subcontractors for overcome
unnecessary work progress delay’s.
Observe and instruct to sub. Con. to follow installation layout and procedures at floor.
( Soffit installations including Conduits, Cables, Pipes & Ducts )
Observe all defects of site installation highlight, push & instruct subcontractors to
rectify all defects. (Once identified any defect work, first verbal instruction are gave
to site supervisors and to relevant party by email to rectifications before conduct any
inspection with consultant) attachment –email
3. Conduct inspections & required tests with the Consultant Engineer.
4. Review & follow-up the approval process of Layout Drawings, Material submittals
etc.
Attended to site meeting, collect detail and prepared work schedule for site
installation base on master program.
Meeting minutes are prepared for the progress meeting with consultant by collecting
detail from all MEP sub contractors.
Participate to the weekly site progress meeting and discussed issues and progress of
site with all sub contracts.
Participate to weekly progress meeting with consultant and raised the design issues
and demonstrate site progress.
Participate to meeting are held with client to highlight the site issues and site progress.
7. Review monthly progress bills & variations.
Inspection sheet sand required drawings are provided to the QS teem to prepare the
monthly progress bills.
Monthly bills (Client/ Sub contractors) are checked against the work progress at site,
inspection sheets, and material delivery notes.
Check & review Variations of the Sub Contactors, Before submitting it to the
consultant.
