1. Profile development-

a. Clearances
b. Conductor data
c. Earthwire data
d. Environmental conditions
e. For sagtension –
1. a, b, c,d, wind pressure (reliability level, terrain category, height (to be
calculated from sag and clearances)
height – top conductor height - 1/3 of sag at 0 deg no wind (minimum sag)

2. what do you need before profile development-

all above, apprx. Base width at 0m level, apprx. width at bottom cross arm level, apprx.
width at top cross arm level

what do you get after profile development-

bottom cross arm height, middle cross arm height, top cross arm height, earthwire height

all cross arm lengths- subject to change on base width change

what to do next-

3. geometry development-

select no. of patterns, type of patterns

4. run

5. loads – wind span, weight span, tensions, tower wind pressure

6. structural . analysis

7. redesign

after redesign

8. run loads, analysis, redesign again. To get the final loads

9. take print out of .dr2, .lo1, .lo4 and line diagram on A3

Check and if required start again from 3 on ward by changing

a. base width

b. pattern height

c. pattern type
keep repeating till final design.
