Micom p127 Directional An Non-Directional Relay

The document provides steps to perform a software update on the PS2 and PS3 EPCC systems to resolve issues with errors appearing during supply changes. The update requires opening the MCC, adjusting AGC4 parameters, performing a power cycle, and checking for errors. If errors still appear, photos are taken and parameters reset before closing the MCC and changing genset modes. The update aims to allow smooth supply changes and genset starting.

EPCC software update information

Current status of PS2 and PS3

PS2 PS3

Problem:
 Error “ID to run conf. fail” appears on ER2B.MCD and ER2B.MCE when ER2A.MCC
opens for changing supply from Bus A to Bus B.

Remarks: The start state is that PLN supply is coming in via ER2A.MCA & ER2A.MCB
with the ER2A.MCC closed. As the two PLN sources are NOT synchronized, we must
first open the ER2A.MCC before we could close ER2B.MCD & MCE then followed by
opening of ER2A.MCA & MCB and finally reclosing ER2A.MCC to complete the transfer
of PLN supply source from Bus A to Bus B.

 Error “ID to run conf. fail” appears on ER2B.MCD and ER2B.MCE when EPCC is
power off and power on.
 The gensets will not start if error “ID to run conf. fail” appears on ER2A.MCA,
ER2A.MCB, ER2B.MCD and ER2B.MCE.

The software update is the proposed solution to solve the above mentioned problem of “ID to
run conf. fail”.

Note: MCC must stay opened during the software update. As MCC is now closed at PS2 and
PS3, there will be a short blackout to some of the airport loads, this would happen whenever
MCC is opened.

Proposed solution:
Step 1:
 Contingency – Technician to standby at MTU diesel genset to manually start the gensets
in case of power failure at PLN. Switch AGC4 genset to “SEMI” mode.
 Operator to standby at SCADA to close GCB remotely.

Step 2:
 Open MCC.
 Set AGC4 parameter 8184 = “Off” at ER2A.MCA, ER2A.MCB, ER2B.MCD and
ER2B.MCE.
 Set AGC4 parameter 8185 = “Run all mains” at ER2A.MCA, ER2A.MCB, ER2B.MCD
and ER2B.MCE.
 Set AGC4 parameter 8186 = “17” at ER2A.MCA and ER2A.MCB.
 Set AGC4 parameter 8186 = “19” at ER2B.MCD and ER2B.MCE
 Set the following M-logic to ER2A.MCA, ER2A.MCB, ER2B.MCD and ER2B.MCE.

 Check that all the settings are correctly done in the respective AGC4 at the EPCC.

Step 3:
 Close MCC.
 Power off and power on EPCC.
 Check if “ID to run conf. fail” appears on ER2A.MCA, ER2A.MCB, ER2B.MCD and
ER2B.MCE.
 Open MCC.

 Check if “ID to run conf. fail” appears on ER2A.MCA, ER2A.MCB, ER2B.MCD and
ER2B.MCE.

Step 4 (If “ID to run conf. fail” did not appear from Step 3):
 Close MCC.
 Change all diesel genset AGC4 status to “AUTO” mode.
 Download EPCC AGC4 software for backup purpose.
 Software update completed.

Step 4 (If “ID to run conf. fail” appears from Step 3):
 Take a photo of the error. The photo must contain AGC4 – ER2A.MCA, ER2A.MCB,
ER2B.MCD, ER2B.MCE, ER2A.MCF and ER2B.MCG. Take a photo of the HMI.
 Open MCC and set back the following: -
 Set AGC4 parameter 8184 = “Dynamic” at ER2A.MCA, ER2A.MCB, ER2B.MCD and
ER2B.MCE.
 Set AGC4 parameter 8185 = “Run all mains” at ER2A.MCA, ER2A.MCB, ER2B.MCD
and ER2B.MCE.
 Set AGC4 parameter 8186 = “18” at ER2A.MCA and ER2A.MCB.
 Set AGC4 parameter 8186 = “19” at ER2B.MCD and ER2B.MCE.
 Check that all the settings are correctly done in the respective AGC4 at the EPCC.
 Close MCC.
