October 2018 includes working on narratives, objective and subjective storytelling, and small group projects presenting on selected books. Students choose books for presentations, begin reading and annotating. They draft narratives with a final draft deadline of November 2. Small groups discuss book chapters and prepare teaching segments. Presentations will begin November 13. Students read drafts in small groups and focus on preparing to teach a segment of their book. Rough drafts are checked on October 23. The month concludes with final drafting of narratives and reading in small groups in preparation for presentations.
