Course Description
 American History is a year long course designed to provide students with a
deeper understanding of American History of the time period between
1800-1900.
 American History 1800-1900
o In History this year we will be discussing the changes and impacts on
America from 1800 to 1900. This starts John Adams’ presidency
taking us through the Civil War and reconstruction. Along with the
expansion of the United States.
o We will have a strong focusing on non fiction reading throughout the
course as well. Many activities will involve DBQ’s (Data Based
Questions that come from various types of text.

Major Topics Covered


 Colonization of the United States
 Division of the North and South
 The Civil War
 Reconstruction

Donated Items
 Any of the following would be greatly appreciated! :)
o Kleenex
o Pencils
o Clorox wipes
o Germ X
o Lysol
Evaluation
 Tests, quizzes, homework, and other assignments are assigned a point value.
Nine week and semester grades are based on the following:
o 100 to 90=A 89 to 80=B 79 to 70=C 69 to 60=D 59 and below=F.

Failure to follow these rules will be dealt with appropriately by the teacher.
