That's definitely not a King Cobra, or at least an adult one. A fully grown King Cobra would
annihilate a mongoose. Length, size, strength, venom, and speed are all better once bigger.

juvenile king cobras. Mongoose often play off their opponents while they are at their most
vulnerable point, which is right after the cobra strikes and misses. They go for the back of the

including the cobra, which is its favorite meal. They dance around the cobra and let it strike again
and again and again until it gets tired. Then they go for the kill and break its neck. Getting bitten
still hurts, but the venom has no effect on them. A cobra can satisfy a mongoose's hunger for a
long time. I have said for many years if I were forced to be reincarnated as a non-human land
animal, I would choose to be a mongoose. Nature has really equipped them well for survival.
They are extremely fast, hide well, are way more powerful than their small size and are pretty
smart. Honey badgers have similar traits but are a little too aggressive for my taste.
