Sorry, I must have misinterpreted your comment... I suggest you try:

sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-stable

then,
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

let me know if this doesn't work... I'd also recommend command reboot

also, you can try

wine /path/to/executable (just type 'wine' then insert a space then drag the exe on terminal)

Ooh I believe your version of Ubuntu may be outdated... I recommend you back up your /home
files and install a supported release of Ubuntu such as 18.04 or consider going to Ubuntu
website and click on Downloads, and under Ubuntu Desktop click Do you want to upgrade?
Follow our simple guide... there should be instructions on how to update without wiping your
computer.

Brett, you left us in the dark here . . . a very long process to attempt the installation and
execution of Wine for Linux Ubuntu. There is obvious flaws in Wine for computers running 64 bit
verses 32 bit. I see tons of users flipping out with issues.

Now, respectfully for those not groomed in Linux yet, the process to get this application working
is rather grueling to say the least. It appears that Canonical and Wine have not affiliation and
both would like to make some revenue through paid services and donations to keep things
moving. Can't blame them, but like anything else, not everything is FREE. (:

What your video did not demonstrate is the actual execution and simple navigation of Wine
once initiated. If you would be so kind as to showcase this afterwards this would great! Thanks.
P.S. Kung Fu, in terms of your technical expertise . . . not physical abilities. LOL (: It's all good in
the neighborhood.

I'm aware I made this back senior year in highschool for friends and thought I'd upload it and
didn't expect it to blowup with views. I figured with so many wine videos this one wouldn't
receive recognition. Also, this was my first time working with linux. Sorry for inconvenience. Like
you said, nothings free. This video wasn't designed to be sold so I just made a basic video.

I dont understand at the end what you mean by sign out of an admin account into a regular
account? to access ubuntu i just do sudo startunity in the ctrl + t box when on chromebook. If i
sign out it just takes me back to chromebook. how do i make a new account? Thanks

by default the main account you use is root. So in Ubuntu go to settings and it's easy to make a
new "standard account"

Bro, I have one problem with wine 2.20 because in any game i have no sound. On Linux sound
works correctly in settings i have winealsa.drv. On old version wine i had winepulse and sound
worked correctly.
