This 1-unit laboratory course introduces hardware description language as a tool for designing and testing combinational and sequential circuits. Students will learn fundamental HDL concepts and building blocks through 9 exercises per quarter, including gate-level modeling, dataflow modeling, behavioral modeling, combinational circuits, sequential circuits, counters, and state machine design. The course requires prior knowledge of fundamentals of electronic circuits and programming logic and design.
