the use of science to solve a practical problem.
DIGITAL- electronic technology that generates, stores,
and processes data.
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP- Using technology responsibly and how you behave
online.
Online Community: social media
Offline Community: Face-to-face with others

DIGITAL NATIVE- A person who has been familiar with computers, the
internet, and other digital technology from your earliest memory.
DIGITAL IMMIGRANT- A person who has become familiar with computers,
the internet, and other digital technology as a young adult or later in
life.

DIGITAL FOOTPRINT- A person’s online reputation. One’s unique set of


digital activities, actions, and communications that leave a data trace
on the internet.
Copy machine showing that your information can be copied and
shared. Lighthouse indicating that you can be searched. The art
easel shows you can’t get rid of your digital footprint.
DIGITAL LITERACY- the learning process of how to find, sort, evaluate,
manage, and create information in digital forms. It is a crucial part of
digital citizenship.
CYBER BULLY- Hurting or disrespecting somebody online.
BYSTANDER- Is a witness but doesn’t take action to the bullying.
ACTIVE BYSTANDER- Takes action in a negative way.
UPSTANDER- A person that takes action to the bullying.
COPYRIGHT- The legal protection of someone’s creative work that gives
them control over their work.
CREATIVE WORK— An idea or creation in any media that is recorded in
some way.
COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT-
PIRACY- Stealing copyrighted work by copying or downloading it in
order to keep, sell or give it away without paying for it or getting
permission.
PLAGIARISM- Copying and pasting or using someone else’s work and
words and playing it off as your own.
