How Can I Fail this Course before I
Fail the Exam?

 Failure to submit an assignment


 Even if the assignment is late, all assignments
must be submitted to pass the course
 Failure to submit a component of the course
project
 Failure of the course project
 < 50% on the project component

The Course Project

 Design of power transmission system


Project Deliverables

 Research/Presentation (1%)
 Due in two week (Sept 24th/25th)
 Perform research on similar transmission systems and
related systems
 Presentations are to be no longer then 5 min.

 Specifications (2%)
 Due Oct 8th /9th
 Develop design requirements/constraints
 Develop timeline/workload distribution

 Preliminary Design (2%)


 Due Nov 5th and 6th
 CAD drawings of selected design

 Final Design Report (20%)


 Due Dec 4th in PA session
 Journal style report
 Must include design calculations, CAD, FEA, etc.
 All previous deliverables must be included

 Examine literature related to the design

 Presentation
 Present to class during the PA
 Use PowerPoint
 Max time limit of 5 minutes
 All or one person can present
 Marked during PA
 Bring a copy on a USB
