Belting
Belting is a specific technique of singing, where you mix lower and upper resonances in the right
proportions, resulting in a sound that resembles yelling but is actually a controlled, sustained
phonation (Source: Wikipedia).

Why belt?

- you don’t have to: some voices are naturally good at low humming jazz songs or gentle folk,
but not natural belters
- Belting gives your voice an edge
- your voice cuts through more, more noticeable

If you’re interested in training your belting voice, there are tons of Youtube videos on belting
technique. If in doubt, pick a singer whose voice resembles yours, and train a little each day.
