The Back Door Policy states that the back door of the store must not be opened after 9pm unless there is a scheduled delivery or emergency evacuation. This policy helps ensure employee safety and security by preventing unauthorized entry. Before 9pm, employees should remove rubbish and prepare storage areas to reduce items outside after hours in accordance with safety and health regulations.

The Back Door Policy

The Company’s Back Door Policy states that the back door must not be opened after
9pm unless there is a scheduled Keystone delivery to the back door or the door is
used as a means of escape in an emergency. This will help to ensure the safety and
security of employees by preventing unauthorized entry to the store.

Considerations before 9pm:

Remove as much rubbish from the Dining Area bins as possible
Empty and remove as many kitchen bins as possible
Take any cages, bun trays and unnecessary items outside
Complete external storage stock counts
Prepare a cage to store rubbish accumulated during the remainder of the
shift. Two employees can take the rubbish out via the front door.
Where possible, move a bin from the corral to a parking bay beside the store
so that employees can take the rubbish out through the front door and
remain in sight of staff inside of the restaurant.
Do not fit bolts, non standard locks to the back door. This would contravene
Health & Safety regulations in relation to fire exits.

Resources:
Back Door Policy posters should be displayed on the back door and are available
from PROMPT.
