(fs for Elements in STAAD Pro RAM |STAAD Forum - RAM | STAAD - Bentley Communities Offset for Elements in STAAD Pro ivassri Is there any procedure that | can give offset to the elements to represent my exact orientation of the slab, | llelaborate the problem. Please refer to the sketch attached herewith. Part Lis a slab with thickness of 1500mm and Part Il is another slab with thickness 1200. Above Part Ilis a trench in the slab. | have modelled my slab with elements in STAD. After modelling | came to know that my elements are joined with respect to the center line of the elements, whereas the actual case is the bottom face of the elements shall be flushed with each other. Can somebody suggest me what can I do for that. | am enclosing my model herewith for you reference. hitpsjicommunies. ently. com/produetsiram-staaditram-staad forumi60188/oist-‘or-eloments-n-staad.pro us (fs for Elements in STAAD Pro - RAM |STAAD Forum - RAM | STAAD - Bentley Communities STAD Model For Reference Offline Geeky biswa over 6 years ago I you use plate elements: You will have to create a mesh for the respective parts separately. The Y coordinate of each of those parts will have to be defined at the elevation of the centerline of those parts. Then, along the boundaries where those parts meet, use the master-slave command to connect the nodes of one part to the nodes of the adjacent part. This means that along those boundaries, the parts will need to have the same number of divisions during meshing. If you use solid elements The thickness of the slab becomes the vertical dimension of the solid element mesh. If you assume 300 mm deep solids, you will have 5 layers of solids for the 1500mm part, and 4 layers for the 1200 mm part, You need to make sure that the connectivity between the parts is proper, else, you will end up with a poor model ommax am really thankful to your immediate reply because I am in such a crucial design stage. hitpsjicommunies. ently. comiproduetsiram-staaditram-staad forumi60188/otist-‘or-eloments-n-staad.pro 28 9912018 (Offset for Elements in STAAD Pro - RAM |STAAD Forum - RAM | STAAD - Bentley Communities ‘Actually | am not so familiar with the plate elements in STAAD. However, with the help of my friends | have prepared this model which took approximately the complete day for me. ‘Coming to the procedure you have provided fo me, If you can provide me a reference model which can make me understand very well, itl be very much helpful for me. But still as you have explained, | am trying to change my model. Your response is highly appreciated. ‘Once agin thankyou verymuch nivassril_ ever 8 years ago in roply to Gooky biswa Mr. Biswatosh, thanks for your suggestion. I have made model according to your suggestion, ‘And the model is enclosed herewith for your reference, My doubt is when I assign anode as ‘Slave! to exactly above ‘Master’ node, why I am getting different displacements for these two nodes when they are connected with rigid link, Please clarify me.
