Lab 9 Questions

This document contains the instructions for an engineering drawing lab assignment on intersecting solids for different batches of students. Each batch is given the same first question involving two intersecting cylinders with perpendicular axes. The second question provides unique solid intersection scenarios for each batch, such as cylinders intersecting prisms or cones of varying shapes. Students are instructed to draw the projections and curves of intersection for the two solids.

Lab 9 Intersection of solids Monday Batch

Q.1 A cylinder with 50 mm diameter and 70 mm axis is standing on HP on its base. It is completely penetrated by another
cylinder with 40 mm diameter and 70 mm axis. Both axes are mutually perpendicular with each other. They intersect &
bisect each other. Draw projections showing curves of intersections. [25 marks]

Q.2 A cylinder 50 mm dia. and 70 mm axis is completely penetrated by a triangular prism of 45 mm sides and 70 mm
axis, horizontally. One flat face of prism is parallel to VP and contains the axis of cylinder. Draw projections showing
curves of intersections. [25 marks]
