Please write at least 180 words on the following topic:

“Leaders & Leadership“


(Explain the characteristics of a good leader, who is your best leader & why, what has he/she done to you,
etc.)

A leader is a person who influences a group of people towards the achievement of a goal. That's exactly
the general description of a leader. A leader by its meaning is one who goes first and leads by example, so
that others are motivated to follow him/her. This is a basic requirement. To be a leader, a person must
have an entrenched commitment to the goal that he/she will strive to achieve it even if nobody follows
him/her. To be a leader, one must have followers. To have followers, one must have their trust. How do
you win their trust? Why would others trust you? Most important, are you worthy of their trust?
Why are some individuals more effective than others at influencing people? Effectiveness in leadership
has been attributed to (1) persuasion skills, (2) leadership styles and (3) personal attributes of the leader.
And it creates some of qualities and characteristics of a leader. Honesty and Integrity, confidence, inspire
others, commitment and passion, good communicator, creativity and innovation. There are some of
qualities and characteristics of a leader.
Regarding to the characteristics of a leader, I found them in the best leader that I have ever seen. My
father. He was the best man ever, I wish I could say this sentence, "My father is my leader, he is a
charming tall 52 years old brown Indonesian man." but he passed away when I was 6. The only reason why
I assume that he was the best leader of me is because even if he was already gone he left the effects for
me, and he is still getting influence my life in a good way. He arranged my little family with those qualities
of him that made my family and I stick together. I remember when I was 5, there was a little argument
with my neighbours and with his good communication, he was able to solve it. Not just his family but he
was also be a leader for everyone around him. He was the inspiration and still be.
And because of him, I'm becoming a grown woman who is ready to face the world. He could have been see me
as I am now. A little girl that he had raised is going to make him proud. He taught me a lot things, that the more
I think of them the more I miss him. We should have spent more time together, but this regret remain to be
silent. My father is my definition of a leader.
