Passive sentence transformations

Active to passive
1. Change the object of the active sentence to the subject of the passive sentence
2. look at the tense in the active sentence and put the verb to be in the same tense in the passive
sentence
3. Put the verb in the past participle form
4. (add by if necessary)
5. (add the subject of the active sentence if necessary.)

Example: Motzart wrote ‘’The Magic Flute’’ in 1791 (active)

‘’The Magic Flute’’ was written by Motzart in 1791 (passive)
